We're hosting an Opening Reception and 7/29. That day we will have a few vending tables available for Artists whose work is on display. If your application is excepted, starting on 7/1, get a vending table HERE. Be sure to fill out an application first and receive an approval email from us BEFORE purchasing a table.
Guidelines
Event Theme: Comics in the City
This theme is free to your interpretation.
From city scenes taking place on the street to club scenes to apartment building life, to comic book pages that you created while being inspired by the city/borough in which you live or via the inspiration of the people you surround yourself with.
We're accepting submissions of both new and previously drawn art. Original and Reprints of art are acceptable submissions. Art generated by an AI program shall NOT be accepted.
Please submit links to the art pieces that you would like to hang. Artists can submit up to three pieces of art depending on size. Art pieces are to be framed with a size maximum of 36 x 36.
No submission fee or hanging fee is required.
There are 40 Art Spots Open. Approvals for Participation will be emailed starting June 1, 2023. Art drop-off begins on July 26, 2023, at 12pm EST and through July 28, 2023, at 2pm EST. Art pick-up starts on August 28th at 12pm EST and through August 31st at 5pm EST. If you'll need to schedule a later date in which to pick up your art, please contact info@womenincomicscollective.org. WinC and Flushing Town Hall are not responsible for artworks not picked up beyond EOD of August 31st. WinC is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen art. By applying to this open call you are agreeing to the above guidelines.
All WinC Events adhere to Federal, State, and Venue COVID-19 Pandemic Guidelines and Mandates. WinC Event artists and attendees are required to be fully vaccinated and are encouraged to wear masks while inside Flushing Town Hall. Disposable Masks and Sanitizer will be available at every in-person event.
